How I beat flu in 24 hours!

Yup that’s right, ‘I said it I meant it I stole my momma’s credit’…I’m standing up, can I get a ‘hell yeah?’

I had flu. Not a pincy wincy cold. No. Flu. Influenza. The achy, migraine-y, freezing cold, sweaty kind. I can’t remember the last time I had flu, but I recognised it’s appearance straight away, it wasn’t a whiney little cold, this was the real deal, I’ve just been steam rollered, kind of thing.

It was my fault. Since I came back from NYC, I haven’t stopped. Full steam ahead with the project, home, appointments etc. A migraine had been thobbing and threatening to push through, along with an earache. But I had ignored it due to the pressures of – life.

Yesterday when I woke up to flu slam dunking me in the toilet with body cramps, nausea, migraines, chills etc I knew I had to get a game plan on to be able to get the little blighters out of my system ASAP!

Frosty Chills brr!

Frosty chills brr!

Now IF I had had the energy I would have made myself a green juice, but I could hardly stand, so this is how I got through.

Here’s what helped me kick it, I wanted to share, as I know so many peeps get struck down this time of year. Hopefully you too can benefit from some of my suggestions.

First, I kept my stomach clear for the first few hours I was awake to let my body concentrate on healing. I drank filtered water and a yogi cinnamon tea, to flush out my system as much as poss.

I wrapped myself up in bed for an hour eating a huge bowl of fresh strawberries and organic blueberries for a vitamin C kick, but, as my back was threatening to snap in two and my whoe body felt cold and hammered – I put on the extra heater and had a very hot bath with some drops of essential lavender oil to relax. After I soaked myself, I exfoliated my entire body (I nearly fainted!) but I knew it was necessary to speed up my body’s detoxification process. I then wrapped myself up as warm as possible, took some homeopathic arsenicum and took to bed, sleeping for two hours.

Berry good for you

At this point I had to takeover childcare, otherwise I might have stayed in bed, but – I got up and stayed warm. I ate half a watermelon, to support my kidneys, rehydrate myself and help the body to detox and flush out critters. Then I drank more water, took more arsinicum and lay down for a while.

watermelon baby!

I then administered two large drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide into my ear and allowed it to sit there for 10 mins before gently pouring out onto a tissue and repeating on the other ear. It is better to ask someone else to do this for you – I found the details on this site http://www.naturalhealthweb.com/articles/Lanphier1.html

Apparently the flu virus enters through the ear and the only way to get it is with this technique, said to cure cold/flu between 12-14 hours!

Then I drank water, ate more strawberries, followed by some salad and a small bowl of addas (split, yellow lentils, similar to daal) soup and a few stuffed vine-leaves before taking two paracetemol and heading to bed.

Bye bye flu – hello health, nice one Cyril 😀

Quick tip list;

  • fresh vegetable juice if possible as much and as soon as you can – see recipe page for ideas
  • gargle with a mixture of propolis, sea, salt and filtered water – great mouth wash as well as gargle
  • fresh berries/kiwi for vitamin C boost
  • watermelon ~ detoxifying diuretic and liver support
  • hot bath with 3 drops lavender essential oil – relaxing, antibacterial – remember to keep warm when getting out
  • sleep – the more the better – the body heals faster when asleep
  • 2 drops 3% hydrogen peroxide in each ear – kills the critters – remember to drain out onto a tissue and be careful!
  • plenty of filtered/spring water – flush, flush, flush
  • arsenicum or another homeopathic remedy – check with a homeopath or online to find your remedy as it depends on symptoms
  • lentil/mung bean/miso soup – light, clear broth, easy to digest, quick to cook – energising
  • paracetamol – it’s so rare I take it, I don’t even keep it in the house, but the less energy you spend on feeling pain, the more energy you have to concentrate on healing, I learnt this from the pain team in hospital
  • DON’T be a matyr ~ if you’re fortunate enough to enlist help ~ do ~ you will get better faster ~ take it from me I learnt the hard way!

Addas ~ Lebanese lentil soup ~ (big thanks to my dad who hooked me up as I was too sick to stand!)

One very quick (20 mins prep) cleansing soup. The lentils are pre-digested so its a great meal to eat when sick and not wanting to exhaust the body’s digestive system

  • sweat an onion in coconut oil with a little atlantic sea salt to stop the onions burning
  • then add two cups of washed split, yellow lentils
  • add enough (filtered/spring) water to create a nice pot of soup – the lentils will thicken and expand as they cook
  • add a little more salt, pepper, cumin powder
  • cook until desired consistency is reached

Peace and health to you always, don’t forget to keep applications rolling in for the project calendar, more details can be found below, in the last post, or email me pinupgalsproject@gmail.com

Help inspire others with your cancer Victory 🙂
