PinUp Gals Project at The Mouth Cancer walk

Tooky,Sada,Bruce on the way to strut their stuff for MCW

We here at the PinUp Gals Project got our sweet little butts together wearing T-shirts with our new logo and wonderful 50’s hair by the fabulous Bruce and got ourselves down to Kensington Gardens on Saturday 18th September for the annual mouth cancer walk, which this year celebrated its 5 year anniversary. Ok we were a bit late – due to hair – it is a process ya know – but we made it just in time for the start.

We used our travel time for a photo shoot and to warm up our salutes as demonstrated my moi.

Work it people!

Not only did we look rather good – (thanks to Bruce our hairdresser, and Tika Viker-Bloss who designed the logo) we managed to raise an amazing £1166.04 which was 233% over our intended target, for the Mouth Cancer Foundation!! We also generated a lot of interest in the project and met with Vinod Joshi, founder of the Mouth Cancer Foundation who is in full support of our project, so much so that he wants to discuss a future affiliation with us which is exciting!

The day was extremely successful and lots of fun as always, but the best part was the journey of doing something together to really help make a difference and to be in the company of others doing the same. Like the fabulous, Dartford Darlings, a team of nurses, secretaries, and a orthadentist from the Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial surgery department at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. Personally I would consider these people more Angels than darlings, as their work makes such an amazing difference to people’s lives.

Thanks to our team Rachel Ogilvy, Sara-Mae Tuson, Talitha, Stuart, Bruce, Hendrix, Tooky Hallak, Sada Hallak, Alice Kovacs, Katie, Darren and Mel for wearing our shirts and doing us all    proud. Thank you to everyone who supported us with words of encouragement and the green stuff! 🙂

Next year we hope to help make the walk even bigger and better by adding numbers to our team.

Team Salute!

Look  out for our PinUp Gals Project branded T-shirts which will hopefully be on sale soon.
