About Michele

Michele Hallak is an award nominated actress, writer and award-winning documentarian.

Since recovering from cancer Michele founded The PinUp Gals Project a revolutionary movement aimed at empowering cancer Survivors!

Michele is currently developing the feature length documentary “From Patient to PinUp” her true story of surviving cancer and leading an army of female cancer Survivors towards empowerment by revealing their sexy, surgical scars.

 

 

 

Her film making debut, a short version of her documentary entitled, “From Patient to PinUp, the Story So Far” premiered at London’s Portobello Film Festival winning Best Documentary Film Award.

After graduating from the Royal Court Theatre‘s YWP Michele became a YWP script reader and  Co-Founder/Artistic Director of ForSite/HindSite Theatre Company based at the Royal Court Theatreʼs Site  until 2007. The company was the longest running of its kind to be based at The Royal Court within the past 25 years.

During this time Michele facilitated dozens of scripts development through dramaturgy, performance and direction and eventually produced the sell out “Doing Lines Festival” at The Pleasance Theatre (London) for which she also wrote, “Born Ready”.

As an Actress, Michele has worked with some of the most influential British directors in Theatre/TV/Film. Her starring & featuring credits include: The Football Factory (Vertigo films) The Bill Christmas special (Talkback Thames), and the BAFTA award nominated Crime & Punishment in Dalston (BBC).

Her play ʻBaby Rice Cakesʼ opened the ʻBest of Festivals season 2010ʼ at the Waterloo East Theatre and her work has been performed at Londonʼs 02 Festival Hyde Park, The Royal Court Theatreʼs SiteThe Pleasance Theatre, Loose Muse, The Poetry Cafe, Farrago Poetry Slam and at the Trespass Magazine launch.

Her work has been published in three issues of Trespass Magazine including the forth coming issue for which she is also features on the cover.
