Being diagnosed with cancer catapulted me onto a new culinary adventure and caused me to undergo a complete nutritional re-education.

The discovery of raw food, its principles, multiple healing and energetic values, has enriched my life, sending me on an insatiable journey of knowledge and empowerment.

The body’s impeccable healing ability is ultimately boosted with the aid of a fresh, live food. Especially when grown organically/consciously and combined in the correct way.

Live food enabled my body to go into spontaneous remission at one point during my illness, and my surgeon actually sent me home the day of surgery because the tumour was no longer there!

Although I am still learning and aspire to be (although often in earnest!) 80%-100% raw- I love to create and prepare raw foods which have become an integral part of my diet.

Below are recipes that I’ve found or created on my journey;

Juices

Fresh pressed vegetable & fruit juices are truly the nectar of health especially when taken every day. For best results drink 32 oz of freshly pressed veggies each morning up until lunch time.

First are a few Ayurvedic recipes said to ease certain ailments:

Colds ~ ginger, orange, carrot, radish, garlic

Constipation~ spinach & carrot or potato, cucumber & apple

Coughs~ carrot juice with 1 tbs of each; garlic, onion & basil

Diarrhoea~ apple, garlic, beetroot & pineapple

Headaches~ ginger, carrot, beetroot, cucumber, tomato, cabbage & apple

Blast Off!! ~  great for skin, liver & kidney

  • green grapes      150g/ 5oz
  • apple      1
  • coriander/cilantro     small handful
  • watercress/rocket/arugula        25 g/1oz
  • squeezed lime juice

sun shot  ~ great for healthy vision & immunity boost

  • carrots            200g/7oz
  • clementines   6

Blushing basil ~ freshly aromatic 😉

  • cucumber (peel if not organic)    1/2
  • basil         handful
  • tomatoes      12 oz

Hugging Healer ~ my own daily juice which I tweak. This was the juice that helped send me into remission when I was juicing my way back to life! You can use more cucumber, apple/carrot/pear until you get used to veggie juices to start and then wind back slowly. I only use organic produce for this juice. Blitz yourself with health!

  • lemon                             1
  • celery                             1 bunch
  • romaine lettuce            1 whole head
  • apple/pear/carrot        1 of your choice
  • spinach                           1 bag
  • cucumber                       1
  • basil/parsley/mint    bunch/to taste

Smoozies, erm sorry.. Smoothies!

I use a vitamix now but any machine can do the job even a cheap hand-held one to get you started.

Below is my recipe combining some great superfoods. A really good way to take superfoods if you’re unsure how to use them. A daily intake of chlorella and bitter apricot kernels in the proportions below, have been shown to greatly reverse the growth of cancer. When I had my tumour in my mouth, I would chew chlorella tablets against my cheek, leaving it between my gum and the tumour – tumours hate chlorella, the oxygen they induce kills cancer cells. Kill those suckers!

I alternate between a green juice/smoothie for breakfast ~

Love Bug ~ highly addictive 🙂 p.s – if you’re fighting cancer it would be best to limit or omit fruits especially juiced as they are high in natural sugars which tumours can feed on, and make your body slightly acidic. I only started eating fruit again once in remission.

  • frozen mixed berries or acai         1 c
  • frozen banana                                  1
  • coconut water                                 20 oz
  • maca                                                 1 tbs
  • purple corn                                     2 tsp
  • bee pollen                                       2 tsp
  • cocoa nibs                                       1 tbs
  • flaxseed                                           1 tbs
  • bitter apricot kernels                   10
  • chlorella                                         5 tablets
  • mesquite                                        1 tbs
  • lucuma                                           2 tsp

occasionally I might add 1 tbs of  raw coconut oil and/or a squeeze of maple syrup
